Prospective Graduate Student Tour

Apply to Graduate School!

We are interested in dedicated students who want to pursue a Ph.D. Students from a variety of backgrounds are welcome. Students with training and interests in any of the following areas may be best able to take advantage of our expertise and facilities available:

comparative physiology of neural control,
comparative biochemistry and energetics;
exercise physiology;
muscle energetics and mechanics;
comparative biomechanics;
bioengineering;
mechanical engineering;
computer modeling

All students take courses in their first year or two to fill the gaps needed to conduct a Ph.D. in their area of interest. Skills or knowledge that students find most helpful include: computer programming (C++), UNIX, Mac OS and Windows OS operation, solid mechanics, dynamics, mathematics, and statistics.
