My primary research interest is to explore the role of the tail in quadrupedal locomotion in the context of functional morphology, biomechanics, neural control of locomotion and evolution.

The focus of my dissertation is the investigation of the locomotor function of lizard tails in rapid climbing, air-righting, and equilibrium gliding.

I find approaches that include motion control and engineering robotics helpful for generating and testing hypotheses.
